The 探花精选 team composed of 3rd-year BS Accountancy students, namely Kristine Louise R. Dela Cruz, Sofia Louise A. Ronquillo, and Ronan Immanuel G. Viernes, won the EXCEED 2021 Accounting Challenge: Virtual Escape Room held on April 10, 2021 via Zoom.
Virtual Escape Room (VER) is one of the EXCEED 2021鈥檚 three accounting challenges, in which participating teams are confined in a virtual room with three segments of challenges involving accounting and non-accounting problems. Segment 1 covers basic accounting; Segment 2 covers basic accounting and management advisory services; and finally Segment 3 covers all the CPA licensure examination courses. Each participating team is given three hours to solve the challenges and escape the room.
The UST team was the first to escape the virtual room and bested sixty-five other teams from all over the country. They were followed by the teams from Bicol University and聽 Notre Dame University 鈥� Cotabato in second and third places, respectively. Winners were given cash prize, medals, and certificates.
EXCEED is an annual event organized by the De LA Salle University, gathering the best and brightest accounting students in the country. EXCEED 2021鈥檚 theme is 鈥淩eshaping Business Dynamics, Catalyzing Post-Pandemic Nation-Building鈥�.
