Bachelor of Fine Arts, major in Painting senior Bernice Michaela Cruz of the College of Fine Arts and Design bagged the third place in the watercolor category of the 51st Shell National Students Art Competition on November 12, 2018 at the Ayala Museum.
Cruz鈥檚 watercolor painting entitled 鈥淗opscotch of life鈥� was the Thomasian artist鈥檚 depiction of the given theme 鈥淧erspective鈥�.
Moreover, Erika Angela Quintero, also a painting senior, was named finalist in the same category with her watercolor painting entitled 鈥淥verlooking鈥�.
In the history of the competition, which started in 1951, a notable Thomasian who was also recognized was the National Artist for Visual Arts Ang Kiukok, who bagged third prize for his oil painting entitled 鈥淐alesas鈥� in 1955.
