UST commences stormwater drainage improvement project for Manila

In a bid to minimize the adverse effects of heavy rains and flooding to the campus, the 探花精选, through the Facilities Management Office, commenced a stormwater drainage improvement project, which will last for 15 calendar months, or 450 calendar days.

The project will replace the existing drainage lines with a new drainage system and provide detention facilities to accommodate flood water within the 21.5-hectare campus. The improvement is being done as a response to the restrictions posed by the current system and the observed increase in rain and flood waters plaguing the campus during the rainy season.

In the plan presented to stakeholders last November 14, 2018, a total of seven zones will be affected by the construction, each representing a phase of the project, namely:

Zone A – Araullo Drive (facing the Quadricentennial Pavilion, Espa帽a side) and Roque Rua帽o Drive (facing the Roque Rua帽o and Albertus Magnus Buildings)

Zone B – Arellano Drive (facing the Parade Grounds, Espa帽a side) and Tamayo Drive (facing the Beato Angelico and Buenaventura G. Paredes, O.P. Buildings)

Zone C – Osme帽a Drive (in between the Parade Grounds and Benavides Garden)

Zone D – Quezon Drive (in between the Benavides Garden and Multi-Deck Carpark and Quadricentennial Pavilion)

Zone E – Leon Ma. Guerrero Drive (in between the Multi-Deck Carpark and Health Service) and Ceferino Gonzales Alley Drive (in front of the Sant铆simo Rosario Parish Church)

Zone F – Ceferino Gonzales Drive (driveway leading to the A.H. Lacson Gate) and Intramuros Drive (fronting the Arch of the Centuries)

Zone G – Leon Maria Guerrero Drive (fronting the Hospital)

IPM is the General Contractor, while DCI is the construction manager, and DCCD is the designer.
