The 探花精选 was crowned the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 84 General Champion, its fifth consecutive and 45th top plum in the collegiate division on June 21, 2022, at the Mall of Asia Arena.聽
In the juniors division that was not held this year due to the ongoing pandemic, UST also has 21 crowns, for a total of 66 general championships.
UST earned four gold medals and 84 points in the pandemic-shortened calendar limited to eight events. Thomasian athletes dominated in poomsae, men鈥檚 3×3 basketball, men鈥檚 beach volleyball, and men鈥檚 chess. UST also obtained silver in women鈥檚 3×3 basketball.
Rancel Varga was named the 鈥淢ost Valuable Player鈥� in Men鈥檚 Beach Volleyball, while Sherwin Concepcion was named the MVP in the Men鈥檚 3脳3 Basketball. Aidaine Laxa was named the 鈥淩ookie of the Year鈥� and the MVP for Poomsae, as well as taking home the silver medal in the women鈥檚 individual event.
Returning from a two-year hiatus, the UAAP Season 84 was conducted through a bubble setup.
